In the Spotlight: The 2016 Honda HR-V
The 2016 Honda HR-V is Honda’s newest addition to the family. An entry level crossover SUV, the HR-V is the more compact, agile, and efficient younger brother of the CR-V. Don’t be fooled by the HR-V’s small size, though. Thanks to its “Magic Seat” (also found in the Honda Fit), the HR-V offers a versatile cabin with plenty of space for people and gear.

Powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, the HR-V puts out 141 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque. According to the EPA, a front-drive HR-V earns 28 mpg in combined driving, with the manual transmission yielding 31 mpg combined with the CVT. Opting for an all-wheel drive version will earn you 29 mpg combined.
Car shoppers will find that despite the HR-V’s compact size, entering and exiting the vehicle is easy, and a full 58.8 cubic feet of cargo space is revealed when the rear seats are folded flat. Folding down part of the convenient 60/40 folding rear seat allows enough space for a bike (wheel removed) and a person.
