Buying New vs. Buying Used

Deciding whether to buy a new or used vehicle can be tough, but there are clear advantages and disadvantages to both. Once you know what they are, you should have no trouble deciding on the perfect option for you and your unique situation!

Buying a brand new car is great for a lot of different situations. For one, you can often get it custom made or at least have your pick of a few different trim levels and models with various features. New cars also have the advantage of full, intact warranties, and all the other things when you get a car from the latest model year—new technology, advanced safety features, better fuel economy.

Buying a used car may seem like a cheaper option, but with better financing and lower risk of breakdowns, buying new could potentially save you money.

Of course, there are many advantages to buying used. A used car has already passed a major piece of its depreciation, which mostly takes place in the first couple years. What this means, is that if you decide to resell your car, you’ll get more return on your investment. Insurance rates, initial cost, and payments are lower, too, so used cars are great for drivers on a budget!
