Welcome to Brighton
Brighton, Michigan is a vibrant, family-friendly suburb of metro Detroit, offering exciting dining and nightlife options, trendy boutiques, art exhibits, beautiful walking paths, festivals, farmer’s markets, and much more. Located just 40 minutes from downtown Detroit and 15 minutes from Ann Arbor, Brighton offers a small-town feel in close proximity to big-city living.
The town has a thriving downtown and active family-friendly culture. Coffee shops, taverns, cafés, pubs, and grilles offer something for everyone, and Brighton’s Farmer’s Market offers a variety of fresh produce, baked goods, handmade crafts, flowers and plants, food, and entertainment every Saturday morning from May through October.
Summertime also brings a number of festivals, including A Taste of Brighton, the Brighton Fine Art and Acoustic Music Festival, and the Smokin’ Jazz and Barbecue Blues Festival. The holiday season brings the annual Holiday Glow – which includes holiday music, dance performances, a petting farm, holiday treats, letters to (and a visit from) Santa, and hay and train rides.
Brighton also has several claims to fame, including an appearance in the popular series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, as the hometown of Harriet Hayes (played by Sarah Paulson), the starting location in the movie Aspen Extreme, and the location of the world premiere of the 1987 horror film The Gate.
Brighton has been home to a number of notable people, too. Drew Henson, who has been quarterback for the Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, and Detroit Lions, attended Brighton High School; Mickey Stanley, former center fielder for the Detroit Tigers, lives in Brighton; and Morgan Trent, cornerback for the Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Washington Redskins, has lived in Brighton.
Next time you’re in the area, be sure to stop by Brighton Honda and say hi!
